The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display device and a manufacturing method thereof wherein a BM on color (BOC) structure is prepared by depositing a black matrix on a sub-color filter to improve variation of color sensation caused by color mixing of a left and a right viewing angle according to high resolution and wherein a depositing order of the sub-color filter and the black matrix, and an arrangement order of the sub-color filter are changed to prevent a light leakage due to the lowering of an optical density. The invention comprises: a first and a second substrate bonded to face each other and having pixels made up of a first, a second and a third sub-pixel arranged in a matrix form; a first color sub-color filter formed on the first sub-pixel of the first substrate; a second color sub-color filter formed on the second sub-pixel of the first substrate where the first color sub-color filter is formed; a black matrix formed on the first substrate where the first color sub-color filter and the second color sub-color filter are formed; a third color sub-color filer formed on the third sub-pixel of the first substrate where the black matrix is formed; and a switching element formed on the second substrate wherein the first, second, third sub-color filters set a same color for a first color and for a second color sub-color filter adjacent to the nth pixel and the (n+1)th pixel in left and right directions in order to prevent an overlay among the first, second, and third sub-color filters. |
