摘要 The invention relates to treatment of dairy by-products and may be used for anaerobic digestion of acidic whey for producing biogas. Technical problem to be solved by present invention is to create a simple method of anaerobic digestion of untreated acidic whey suitable for small size dairies, using milk proteins as an additional energy source. A method of anaerobic digestion of acidic whey in a four-chamber system having anaerobic microorganisms for producing biogas comprises the steps of: injecting untreated acidic whey in the first chamber (1) providing the hydrolysis of acidic whey and the sedimentation of milk proteins; separating the milk proteins sediment and 8-12 vol% of the bulk liquid and transferring them to the second chamber (2) providing the treatment and partial anaerobic digestion of the milk proteins in the second chamber; transferring the treated milk proteins from the second chamber (2) and remaining bulk liquid from the first chamber to the third chamber (3) providing mainly acetogenesis and methanogenesis processes; transferring effluent from the third chamber (3) to the fourth chamber (4) and providing mainly methanogenesis process in the fourth chamber (4).
