<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intestinal toxin adsorbent capable of reducing side effects such as constipation and easily takable because of e.g. free from rough feeling and requiring only a small amount of water for taking, and to provide a method for producing the adsorbent. <P>SOLUTION: The intestinal toxin adsorbent has a jelly or gelled dosage form and includes at least one kind of activated carbon selected from vegetable carbon powder originated from coconut shell and carbon powder originated from thermosetting resins, and at least one kind of polysaccharide selected from locust bean gum, carrageenan, pectin, polydextrose, agarose, agaropectin and xanthan gum. Preferably, the vegetable carbon powder is steam-activated vegetable carbon powder originated from coconut shell, and preferably the polysaccharide at least contains the polydextrose. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
