System and method for securely managing data of industrial control systems

A method and system include a configuration of sensors 110 within an asset 104 for monitoring one or more physical operating parameters of the asset. The sensors are operable to provide corresponding sensor signals for processing within the system. The system includes a server arrangement 112 which receives the sensor signals in real-time. The server arrangement includes processing hardware for processing the sensor signals and a communication link 118 to a cloud-computing resource 120. The server arrangement is operable to process the sensor signals to generate corresponding sensor data. The corresponding sensor data is in a format for example XML or IPC which is acceptable to the cloud-computing resource. The system may comprise one or more simulation models for identifying adjustments for optimizing the process. The system may also be monitored to identify if any apparatus has failed.
