Disclosed is an apparatus to detect a lower part of a vehicle comprising: a depth sensor to generate a depth image with respect to the lower part of a vehicle; a rotation module to rotate the depth sensor in a horizontal direction; and a control module to generate a first depth image corresponding to a vehicle lower part photographing image in absence of an object, and to detect an object by subtracting the first depth image from a second depth image corresponding to the vehicle lower part photographing image at an arbitrary view.
