A liquid jet head comprises: a piezoelectric substrate 2 including an array of ejection grooves 3 formed in an upper surface of the piezoelectric substrate 2; a side flow path 5 is formed in a first side surface SP1 of the piezoelectric substrate and is in communication with the plurality of ejection grooves 3; a cover plate 6 is bonded to the upper surface of the substrate 2; and a nozzle plate 9 is bonded to the first side surface SP1 and includes nozzles 10 communicating with the ejection grooves 3. The piezoelectric substrate 2 preferably includes non ejection grooves 4 alternating with the ejection grooves 3; wherein the non ejection grooves 4 are not in communication with the side flow channel 5. A method of making a liquid jet head is also disclosed; the side flow path 5 is preferably formed by grinding the piezoelectric substrate 2; the grinding commencing from either a lower surface of the substrate or from the first side surface SP1. |
