Movement sensor for digital tachograph and system comprising the same

The sensor (1) has a Hall Effect cell (9) sensitive to intensity variations of a magnetic field and supplied by electric energy (E). The cell is associated to a calibration unit. A control unit i.e. microcontroller (11), temporarily interrupts the supply of the electric energy to the cell, and restores the cell, under voltage, in a manner to activate the calibration unit in response to detection of absence of data transmission by the cell during time interval. An independent claim is also included for a method for transmitting information representing movement of a vehicle by a sensor.
