The present invention relates to a cable installation apparatus of cable tray side-mounted type. It includes a fixing part fixed to the tray bar of a cable tray, a transfer part which is fixed to the fixing part and is combined with a driving shaft rotated by the driving of a motor, and a clamping part which reciprocates by the rotation of the driving shaft and moves a cable with a constant distance. An installation apparatus is installed on the side of a cable tray so that it can move a cable to a narrow space. It can move a cable even though the cable is located on the inside of a clamp in the cable tray installed at a proper height. It can be used regardless of the size of the cable tray because the height of a latch can be vertically controlled.
