A drilling pressure damping system 64 including a riser 88, a pressure vessel 66, a source of pressurised gas N1, and a main flow line 34 which extends from the riser to the pressure vessel, the pressure vessel having a liquid inlet port connected to the main flow line, a gas inlet port V6 connected to the source of pressurised gas, a liquid outlet port 76 located in a lowermost portion of the pressure vessel, and a gas outlet port 70 located in an uppermost portion of the pressure vessel. Also independently claimed is a diverter for diverting fluid from a riser in a drilling system. |
