<p>A braking system 10, preferably for a commercial vehicle, comprises: at least one friction element configured to be rotationally fixed to a vehicle wheel 12; at least one actuator device 16 configured to move a brake pad device 14 into contact with the friction element; the brake pad device 14 having at least two separate brake pad parts 24, 26. The separate brake pad parts 24, 26 may be of different materials, preferably metallic and ceramic materials. The actuator 16 may exert different forces on the brake pad parts 24, 26, and may consist of separate actuators 32 & 34. The particles abraded of at least one brake pad parts 24, 26 may exceed 2.5 microns.</p> |
