发明名称 A remote control system comprising electric signal receivers
摘要 791,237. Actuation of switches. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS-GES. Jan. 14, 1955 [Jan. 16, 1954; March 20, 1954], No. 1213/55. Class 38 (5). A remote-control receiver responsive to spaced current impulses comprises, Figs. 1,2, a drum 1 rotated by a motor 3 upon receipt of the first impulse by a relay 12, the relay armature 60 tilting a lever 20 about a pivot 21 to withdraw a projection 66 and permit contact 64 to engage contact 65 and energize the motor. Rotation of the drum causes a finger 69 to ride out of a recess 68 on to a circular cam surface 67 on the drum whereby the contacts 64, 65 are held closed and the drum is rotated through one revolution until the finger again drops into the recess. The switches, not shown, to be controlled are arranged on the lever 20 in a line parallel to the drum axis and are mounted on that part of the lever facing the drum such that when the relay 12 is energized they are moved towards the drum and may be actuated by pins 6 of bars 5 placed in selected circumferential drum slots 2 and retained therein by a garter spring 8. Two bars 5 each with a pin 6 are required for each switch, one pin actuating the switch " on " and the other actuating the switch " off " and for each switch operation two impulses are required, the first impulse setting the drum in rotation and the second moving the switches towards the drum so that a pin may be effective to cause an " on " or " off " operation of one of the switches. However, a switch operation takes place only if the second impulse arrives when a pin is opposite the switch. Since the greatest practical number of slots 2 is about 40, if a number of receivers are required to be selectively operable by a greater number of commands, the receivers are divided into groups, a particular group being chosen by the transmission of a " third " impulse interposed between the previously-mentioned first and second impulses. Thus unless the third impulse has been effective upon a receiver the subsequent transmission of the second impulse is ineffective. In such an arrangement, Figs. 4, 5, controlling three fixedly mounted switches 11, 11a, 11b each having a closing lever 111, 111a or 111b and an opening lever 112 &c. the lever 20 has guideways 31 &c. and carries levers 41 &c. pivoted at 45 etc.; also, guideways 51 &c. are formed in the housing surrounding the drum. Fig. 5 shows the drum in developed form and moving from right to left. The bars 5 are slidably retained in slots 2 by the spring 8 and have pins of different length, a bar with three short pins 6 serving for group selection, bars with pins 6<SP>11</SP> for switch opening, and bars with ong pins 6<SP>1</SP> for switch closing. A further bar with three pins is inserted in the last drum slot to reset all the levers 41 &c. to the position shown for the lever 41a at the end of each drum revolution, the path of one such pin being shown by line C, C. The levers 41 &c. are located in their various operative positions by, e.g. a spring-biased ball engaging a recess. The path of one group selecting pin 6 is shown at E and these pins move the levers 41 &c. to the position shown for levers 41, 41b provided the " third " impulse arrives when these pins are adjacent the levers. Path D, D is that taken by a pin 61 or 6<SP>11</SP> in the instance where a receiver is not selected by pins 6, path B, B that taken by a pin 6<SP>1</SP> to operate a switch closing lever 111, path F, F that taken by a pin 6<SP>11</SP> to operate an opening lever 112b, the pin 6<SP>11</SP> passing through a recess 42 formed in the underside of the lever 41b. If a second impulse is not received when a pin 61 or 6<SP>11</SP> is adjacent a guideway 31 &c. the pin 61 takes a path A, A and pin 6<SP>11</SP> a path G, G and the switches are not operated, the pins passing instead through recesses in the underside of the guideways. The displacement of the pins along the drum axis by their engagement with the guideways 31 &c., 51 &c. and levers 41 &c. is permitted by the sliding of the bars 5 in the slots 2. To obtain still greater selection amongst a number of receivers a modification is described (Figs. 6-8, not shown) in which three selecting impulses must be transmitted between the first and second impulses, these selecting impulses acting, through pins 6, on groups of three interengaging levers provided in place of the single levers 41 etc;
