The present invention relates to a device to reduce standby power, capable of turning on/off electrical connection between an electric device and an external power source by generating instant power. The device includes an energy extracting part generating power from an energy source; a power-saving control part generating a control signal by receiving power from the energy extracting part; and a power opening and closing part turned on/off by receiving the control signal from the power-saving control part. Therefore, as external power is completely disconnected in a standby state, the consumption of standby power is minimized even when a power plug of an electric device is not disconnected and as the external power and the electric device are electrically connected by using power, instantly generated from an external energy source, the electric device is used without the inconvenience of connecting or disconnecting the power plug. |
