The folding pocket device (10) has a sheet stop device (40) which extends transverse to feed direction (ER) in pocket space (24). The sheet switch unit (30) is provided with deflection device (35) and moved from a release position in which sheet inlet opening (25) is released into the folding pocket into a deflection position in which sheet inlet opening is closed. The deflection device is movable from the release position into the deflecting position by sheet stop device when the sheet stop device is moved against the running direction.
