An electronic, optoelectronic, or electroluminescent component comprising an electronically functionally active region, wherein the electronic, optoelectronic, or electroluminescent component comprises a charge transport material, light-scattering material, or blocker material, wherein the charge transport material, light-scattering material, or blocker material comprises a heterocyclic compound, wherein the heterocyclic compound has one of the following formulas A-E: wherein X and Y differ from one another but are otherwise selected independently from oxygen, sulfur, selenium, or tellurium; n is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6; and R1-R9 are selected independently from hydrogen, alkyl, aryl, heteroaryl, anellated carbocycle, anellated heterocycle, OR′, SR′, or NR2′, wherein R′ is selected independently from alkyl, aryl, heteroaryl, anellated carbocycle, or anellated heterocycle.
