<p>The present invention relates to a parking assisting system and a method thereof. The system includes a rear sensor installed in the rear of a vehicle, sensing a rear proximity distance between the vehicle and a rear object when there is the rear object behind the vehicle moving backward, and generating and transmitting rear proximity information about the rear proximity distance; a rear camera installed in the rear of the vehicle, and photographing a rear image of the vehicle when the vehicle moves backward; a parking assistance control part activating the rear sensor and the rear camera when a transmission of the vehicle is shifted to a reverse gear, determining a rear proximity degree corresponding to the rear proximity information among rear proximity degrees, classified into a plurality of rear proximity steps, when receiving the rear proximity information from the rear sensor, and converting the rear image into a top-view rear image when the determined rear proximity degree reaches a predetermined rear proximity step; and a display part displaying the top-view rear image, converted by the parking assistance control part.</p> |
