<p>The present invention relates to a biometric authentication device and a terminal including the same and, more specifically, to a module which performs biometric authentication though a miniaturized finger vein scanning device and a terminal loading the same. The biometric authentication device using finger vein scanning of the present invention comprises; a slide pad which is placed so a finger is slid and contacted for vein authentication; a main slit which is linearly formed on the slide pad; a sub slit which is linearly formed on the slide pad to be separated from the main slit in parallel; a light source which irradiates the finger on the slide pad with light; an image sensor which photographs an image which is reflected from the finger according to a predetermined frame rate and is entered into the main slit and the sub slit; an image producing unit which calculates a sliding speed by comparing image patterns obtained through the main slit and the sub slit by frame and produces linear patterns obtained from the main slit as a two dimensional image pattern based on the sliding speed; and a biometric authentication unit which executes user authentication by comparing the two dimensional image pattern obtained from the image producing unit with a prestored vein image pattern. According to the present invention, a vein scanning module which can be applied to a slim portable terminal such as a laptop is provided. Therefore, a slim design of a laptop and smart phone can be maintained and a competitive biometric function can be formed.</p> |
