A combined top stop and end connector comprises two identical parts 10, each having an elongated plane body portion 11 provided at its ends with clamping jaws 12, 13 enabling the part 10 to be clamped to one fastener stringer 17 in oppositely disposed relation to the other part clamped to the other stringer 171, the body portion 11 having a. widened intermediate portion 14 protruding towards the other part, the widened portion of each part being provided with an opening 15 constituting an eye and with a hook 16 extending from its side edge disposed toward the other part, the construction and arrangement being such that either part may function both as the hook and the eye of a hook and eye fastener. In the arrangement according to Figs. 1, 5 and 6, the two parts are locked in engagement by a slider 20, Fig. 5, when the latter is in its extreme position to interengage the fastener elements 19 and 191. Preferably the slider is of the locking type and each connector part 10 is clamped to the rear side of its respective tape 7. In the arrangement according to Figs. 7-9 (not shown), one connector part is attached to the rear of its tape and the other part is attached to the front of its tape to permit dual interengagement of the parts. In another arrangement, Figs. 10-12 (not shown), the eye of each connector part is of generally rectangular shape and the surfaces defining the longitudinal edges of the eye are pressed out in opposite directions from the plane of the eye to improve the interengagement of the connector parts..In the construction according to Fig. 19, the connector part 30 is formed from a flat blank to provide a flat body portion 31 having an eye 33 and a hook 34 and parallel upwardly and downwardly inclined surfaces as in the previously described arrangement. The connector part is clamped to its stringer tape however by means of co-operating thornlike projections 35a, 35b and rearwardly inclined arms 36a, 36b having recesses 39 which engage the projections 35a, 35b when the arms are bent downwardly on to the stringer tape.
