PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device and drive method of the display device that enable suppress of an error between an actual amount of threshold voltage shift of a drive transistor and an amount of threshold voltage shift calculated from an accumulation stress.SOLUTION: A display device comprises: a display part 6 that is composed of a light emitting pixel 100 including a light emitting element (organic EL element 104), and a drive transistor 101 causing the light emitting element to emit light by supplying a current to the light emitting element; a signal line drive circuit 5 that supplies a signal voltage to be applied to between a gate and a source of the drive transistor 101; and a control circuit 2 that controls the signal line drive circuit 5. The control part 2 is configured to: calculate an amount of threshold voltage shift of the drive transistor 101 on the basis of an amount of threshold voltage deterioration of the drive transistor 101 in a degradation period of time in which a signal voltage is kept at a non-zero value and an amount of threshold voltage recovery of the drive transistor 101 in a recovery period of time in which the signal voltage is kept at the zero; and correct the signal voltage in accordance with the amount of threshold voltage shift. |
