PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control system in which both a user terminal and a viewing device include displays, and the viewing device is remotely controlled while switching a terminal to be operated in an interactive mode. ! SOLUTION: When a remote application is started in a user terminal 1, as shown in figure (a), a character resembling a woman is superposition-displayed on a terminal display. If a program meeting the interest or the like of a user is found, the remote application synthesizes a voice message and artificially sounds the voice message from the character. When the user says "Turn on!", on a TV 2, a switch is turned on as shown in figure (b), a channel is switched to a designated channel and relay broadcasting of a professional baseball game is displayed. Further, the character jumps out of the display of the user terminal 1 and jumps into a display of the TV 2.
