PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas analyzing apparatus for which the permissible range of soot and dust concentration in the exhaust gas to be analyzed is expanded. ! SOLUTION: An exhaust gas analyzing apparatus comprises a light source arranged at the beginning point of a light path including a measuring light path extending in an exhaust gas channel so configured as to flow exhaust gas resulting from combustion, a light receiving element arranged at the ending point of the light path, a measuring instrument so configured as to analyze the exhaust gas on the basis of the output of the light receiving element, and a first cylinder disposed in the channel of the exhaust gas.
