PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable improvement in reactor safety in an annulus air purification system and a nuclear power plant.SOLUTION: An annulus air purification system 76 including an annulus 72 provided between a reactor containment vessel 11 and an outer shielding wall 71 installed outside of the reactor containment vessel 11, and keeping a negative pressure of an atmosphere in the annulus 72 and purifying an interior of the annulus 72, comprises: an atmospheric-air emission line 81 having an end coupled to the annulus 72; a motor-driven air discharge device 85 provided on the atmospheric-air emission line 81; an air purification filter unit 84 provided on the atmospheric-air emission line 81; and a steam-driven air discharge device 89 provided on the atmospheric-air emission line 81 so as to bypass the motor-driven air discharge device 85.
