PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor for an embedded magnet type electric motor configured so that a hollow portion facing a corner portion near an outside magnetic pole face of a permanent magnet with a rectangular cross section, which can be easily manufactured by allowing the permanent magnet to be positioned so that the outside magnetic pole face contacts a rotor core and can improve performance of the electric motor. ! SOLUTION: A spacer member 28, interposed among a remaining portion of a side face 18 other than portions facing an inner magnetic pole face 17 and a hollow portion 20, an inner support wall 23 and a side supporting wall 24, is inserted into an insertion hole 13 so as to press an outer magnetic pole face 16 of a permanent magnet 15 against an outer supporting wall 22; and an adhesive 29 for fixing the permanent magnet 15 and the spacer member 28 to a rotor core 14 is filled in the hollow portion 20. !
