PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for molding materials capable of preventing a water and oil repellent agent from being separated to exhibit excellent stain resistance even when adding a thickener and a water and oil repellent agent to an unsaturated polyester resin used as a resin component and curing the resultant mixture by the aging step to be thickened, and a method for manufacturing a molding material using the resin composition for molding materials. ! SOLUTION: The resin composition for molding materials includes at least an unsaturated polyester resin, a hardener, a thickener and a water and oil repellent agent. The thickener consists of alkaline earth metal salt, and the water and oil repellent agent is a silicone oil having a plurality of carboxyl groups at a side chain or a fluorine containing polymer. !
