PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binary arithmetic encoding apparatus capable of accelerating binary arithmetic encoding processing.SOLUTION: The binary arithmetic encoding apparatus includes: a context updating part for calculating a state transition value of a symbol occurrence probability state and MPS/LPS information from context information and a symbol; a range updating processing part for calculating a re-normalization shift quantity from the state transition value of the symbol occurrence probability state, the MPS/LPS information and a range value and updating the range value simultaneously with the calculation; a row value updating part for updating a row value from the re-normalization shift quantity, the MPS/LPS information, the updated range value and the row value; and a bit stream generation part for generating a bit stream using the updated row value. The context updating part, when simultaneously determining an occurrence probability state of the second bin from an occurrence probability state of the first bin, refers to an occurrence probability state table and performs parallel processing of a plurality of bins. |
