PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separation membrane module capable of accommodating a hollow fiber bundle easily in a vessel and hardly forming a cavity between the accommodated hollow fiber bundle and the vessel. ! SOLUTION: A separation membrane module 10 comprises: a stack body 30 formed by laminating a plurality of sheet-shaped elements 20 formed in a fabric shape of a hollow fiber membrane 21 having fluid separation performance; and a casing 40 for accommodating the stack body 30. The hollow fiber membrane 21 is used as the wefts or warps in the sheet-shaped elements 20, and the section of the casing 40 in a direction X perpendicular to the direction for the hollow fiber membrane 21 to extend in the sheet-shaped element 20 is formed into a generally rectangular shape. !
