PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin linear motor with core which allows for generation of desired thrust, while reducing the impact of cogging. ! SOLUTION: In a linear motor including a magnet and a coil arranged oppositely to the magnet, where the magnet side and the coil side move relatively, the thickness in the facing direction of the magnet and coil is 1/4 or less of the width in the direction perpendicular to the direction of relative movement of the magnet side and coil side, and a core composed of a magnetic material is fitted in the inner periphery of the coil. !
