According to one aspect of the present invention, a liquid crystal display apparatus which can reduce a number of masks required for manufacturing a lower substrate comprises: a gate electrode formed on a thin film transistor area on a substrate, and a first common electrode formed on a pixel area; a gate insulation film formed on the entire substrate including the gate electrode and the first common electrode; a source electrode and a drain electrode formed on the gate insulation film; a pixel electrode formed on the gate insulation film in the pixel area; a protective film formed on the entire substrate including the pixel electrode; and a second common electrode formed on the protective film. |
