PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method for producing a linear alkoxytitanic acid phosphoric acid polymer which does not comprise chlorine in any form without using hydrochloric acid. ! SOLUTION: A method for producing a linear alkoxytitanic acid phosphoric acid polymer is characterized in that a phosphoric acid or an alkylphosphate ester is added to an alcohol solution of an alkoxytitanic acid in the absence of water and mineral acids to start chain transfer polymerization. On the verge of the increase in viscosity of the polymerization product liquid for gelatification, polymerization is stopped by stopping the addition of the phosphoric acid or the alkylphosphate ester. !
