PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering unit which can be easily downsized. ! SOLUTION: There is provided a steering unit 200 that comprises: a rack bar 10A moving in a vehicle width direction for steering of a steering wheel 207; a rack end 20A provided at the end of the rack bar 10A; a housing 110 housing the rack bar 10A; and an elastic body 120A which is provided in the housing 110 and contacts the rack end 20A to regulate the movement of the rack bar 10A. A diametrically enlarged portion 12 which contacts the elastic body 120A and has a diameter enlarging as approaching a rack end 20A side from a rack bar body 11 side is formed between the rack bar body 11 and the rack end 20A. !
