PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unit and method for searching for a route, along which information resulting from site investigation can be effectively acquired in a case where the site investigation is performed by running a vehicle.SOLUTION: There are included a first map database that stores map data containing pieces of information on links including object links that meet a predetermined condition and present in a first area, and a travel history database in which travel histories concerning traveling of a vehicle are stored in association with travel images acquired during traveling. The acquired travel images are subjected to image processing for each of the object links. Based on a result of the image processing, re-traveling needed links which need re-traveling are specified out of the object links subjected to the image processing. By referencing the first map database, a route to a destination which includes the specified re-traveling needed links is searched for.
