PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film stretching apparatus capable of smoothly changing the conveying track of a clip for holding both ends of a film to suppress the occurrence of wrinkles and obtaining a film having a desired main optical axis direction and optical properties.SOLUTION: A film stretching apparatus 40 having a film-side track and a return-side track comprises: two endless conveying members 50 and 54 having flexibility in a conveying direction and having each film side track arranged to face each other; a plurality of clips attached to the conveying members in an equal pitch in the conveying directions of the conveying members and capable of holding the end parts of a film; a track bending mechanism for bending a curvature change part which is a part along a central locus between the two film side tracks facing each other relative to the other part to partially change the curvature of the central locus; and a stretch ratio changing mechanism for changing a stretch ratio of the film. |
