PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulated electric wire that is excellent in heat resistance and having an insulation layer including a crosslinked silicone rubber.SOLUTION: An insulated electric wire is covered with an insulation layer containing a crosslinked silicone rubber and silica around a conductor. The silica content is 40 mol% or less in terms of Si based on the total of the crosslinked silicone rubber and silica. The crosslinked silicone rubber contains a siloxane unit having a phenyl group as an organo group in which the content of siloxane unit is 0.5 mol% or more.
