PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a top-type ball screw which hardly causes the come-off of a top from a penetration hole of a nut, and is short in a work time related to the attachment of the top. ! SOLUTION: A top 4 has engagement parts 42 engaged with a peripheral edge part 2a of a penetration hole of an internal peripheral face of a nut 2 at both sides of a ball return passage 41 in a width direction, and a shaft part 43 which protrudes to the outside of the nut 2 in a radial direction at a back face part 41a of the ball return passage 41. A penetration hole 22 of the nut 2 is formed of a fitting hole 23 fit with the top 4, and recessed parts 24. The recessed parts 24 are arranged at both sides of the fitting hole 23 in a direction vertical to a direction along the ball return passage 41 at the outside rather than the fitting hole 23 in the radial direction of the nut 2.
