PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve support force of a foil bearing. ! SOLUTION: A foil bearing (thrust foil bearing 40) comprises a foil holder 41, and a plurality of foils 42 which are arranged while being aligned in a circumferential direction. Each foil 42 has a body part 42a having a thrust bearing face S2, and an extension part 42b extending to an outside diameter side from the body part 42a. An end part 42d of the body part 42a of each foil 42 at a rotation-direction preceding side is arranged while being overlapped on the body part 42a of the adjacent foil 42.
