PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a CG image obtained by reducing noise about a scene including an object having a low diffuse reflectance. ! SOLUTION: A first light beam emitted to a scene from a light source is traced, and a photon distribution map is created by arranging a first photon in a section of a scene corresponding to a position of the collision with diffused materials (S502). Next, a second light beam emitted to the scene from a viewpoint is traced, and the photon distribution map is interpolated by arranging a second photon in a scene section corresponding to a position of the collision with glossy materials or transmission objects with no first photon arranged (S503).
