PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device which suppresses generation of sound associated with vibration and offers constant operating feel regardless of types of manipulation made by a user.SOLUTION: An input device 1 includes: a touch panel 2 which displays buttons 200-203 on a display screen 20 and generates a manipulation signal Sm based on a touch position 50; force sensors 40 which detect pressing force applied on a manipulation surface of the touch panel 2 and generate pressing force detection signals Sf; a piezoelectric element 30 which makes the touch panel 2 vibrate using a vibration control signal Sb; and a controller 3 which, when the touch point 50 is within an area corresponding to the buttons 200-203, makes the piezoelectric element 30 vibrate at a frequency of tens to hundreds of Hz if the pressing force is no less than a predetermined level according to the pressing force detection signals Sf and, if the pressing force is less than the predetermined level, generates a vibration control signal Sb for vibrating the piezoelectric element 30, the vibration control signal Sb having a waveform obtained by amplitude-modulating a waveform having a frequency of tens of kHz with a modulating wave having a frequency of tens to hundreds of Hz. |
