PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical signal transmitter and an erroneous light emission prevention method, capable of preventing an optical signal of any other wavelength than a desired wavelength from being outputted even if there is a malfunction in wavelength switching.SOLUTION: An optical signal transmitter includes: an optical filter through which only any optional wavelength range is transmitted, on a pre-stage of a first optical output port that sends out optical signals over preset one or more wavelengths; and a photoelectric transducer serving as an optical output monitor on a post-stage of a second optical output port, or the photoelectric transducer on the post stage of the second optical output port and an optical filter in which a wavelength dependency of a transmission light intensity monotonously increases or monotonously decreases, between the second optical output port and the photoelectric transducer serving as the optical output monitor.
