PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of comparatively simply projecting a high-quality image without increasing a circuit scale.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal projector 100 has: a projection lens 21 having a focus lens 21a; a trapezoidal distortion correction processing circuit 35 for performing filtering processing to correct trapezoidal distortion and improve sharpness; and a control part 26 for acquiring a ratio D0/DA of horizontal direction length at a round mark and a point on a screen in which the trapezoidal distortion is corrected, and acquiring a filter coefficient to obtain the filtering processing corresponding to the filtering processing at the round mark based on the ratio. The trapezoidal distortion correction processing circuit performs the filtering processing based on information of the filter coefficient acquired by the control part.
