PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner that can provide amenity and energy saving. ! SOLUTION: An air conditioner includes: a compressor with variable operation frequency; an outdoor control part which sets by stages, an operation code corresponding to the operation frequency of the compressor, determines the operation frequency of the compressor based upon an operation mode sent from the side of an indoor unit and controls the compressor; and an indoor control part which calculates the operation code corresponding to the operation frequency of the compressor from a room temperature and a set temperature. When the operation code sent from the indoor control part changes repeatedly in two high and low stages, the outdoor control part controls the compressor at an intermediate correction target frequency calculated from operation frequencies corresponding to the instructed operation codes in the two stages.
