PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thyristor high voltage automatic voltage regulator which allows for high speed continuous tap change, while suppressing temperature rise of a current limit resistor. ! SOLUTION: The shortest tap change interval is abolished. When the temperature rise value of a current limit resistor goes above a specified value during tap change, tap change by a thyristor is controlled to stop. Furthermore, tap change is controlled to stop when the number of times of tap change by the thyristor exceeds a specified number of times of tap change of the most recent certain period of time. !
