PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can read all documents and display the documents in preview before transmitting the documents despite the small storage capacity. ! SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus of the present invention determines if reading can be continued according to the free space of the storage capacity, and when determined that the reading cannot be continued, temporarily stops the reading and displays read images stored therein. The image forming apparatus transmits at least a part of the displayed read images to an external device, and deletes the transmitted images from a storage unit before resuming the reading. !
