PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary operation device that can improve the silencing property and durability and can simplify the structure. ! SOLUTION: The rotary operation device further includes: a jog dial 2 having a rotary shaft part 13; a load charging unit 7 that holds the rotary shaft part 13 in the radial direction and charges a braking load due to a friction on the rotating jog dial 2; a load adjusting unit 8 capable of adjusting the magnitude of the braking load; and a base unit 4 having a pivot part 42 for rotatably supporting the rotary shaft part 13.
