<p>The wall cap 50 comprises at least one elongated member having a first end 64 for attachment to an interior wall 16 in use and having an outer surface 52 extending across a gap between the interior wall and an exterior wall. The elongate member defines a chamber with a least a portion of the interior wall. A material 54 is disposed in the chamber having one characteristic which abates one undesirable physical property of the gap. The material may block flame, heat and hot gases across the gap or sound and vibration. The chamber may include at least one width of fire rated material 900 and a second width of sound damping material 54. The fire rated material may have a backing plate having an offset flange mounted to the interior wall. A gasket 68B may be located between the exterior wall and the device.</p> |
