The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating sepsis and, more specifically, to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating sepsis or a food composition for preventing or treating sepsis, which contains desoxo-narchinol (DN) A or 8alpha-hydroxypinoresinol (HP) as active ingredients. The composition of the present invention effectively controls inflammation caused by LPS, thereby being effectively used in prevention and treatment of sepsis.
