The present invention relates to a display device and a driving method thereof. In particular, provided are a display device and a driving method thereof, wherein horizontal electrodes aligned in parallel with gate lines intersect with vertical electrodes less than the horizontal electrodes,and whether the horizontal electrodes are touched is determined by using sensing signals received by the horizontal or the vertical electrodes during multiple touch sensing periods contained in the first frame period. To this end, the display device according to the present invention comprises: a panel having an in-cell type touch panel including a first touch electrode group where s horizontal electrodes aligned in parallel to gate lines intersect with k(< s) vertical electrodes; and a touch sensing unit determining whether the horizontal electrodes are touched by using sensing signals received by the horizontal electrodes or by using sensing signals received by the vertical electrodes during multiple touch sensing periods contained in a first frame period. |
