摘要 Provided is a method for driving an organic electroluminescent display device according to an embodiment of the present invention, which comprises the steps of: generating luminance value from inputted data; determining the luminance value; applying a first luminance control method when the luminance value is 2 nits or more; applying a second luminance control method when the luminance value is less than 2 nits; and generating data to which the the first luminance control method or the second luminance control method is applied, wherein by the first luminance control method, the luminescence time is controlled according to the luminance and wherein by the second luminance control method, a luminescence time corresponding to 2 nits of luminance value is applied and additionally an electric current is controlled to decrease luminance to 50%. According to the present invention, luminance beyond the predetermined luminance is implemented by controlling the off pulse width of a luminescence signal and low luminance is implemented by applying an automatic current limit (ACL) algorithm to control the off pulse width of a luminescence signal and decrease luminance without the problems of stains or color deviation for each cell.
