The invention aims to provide a cable hoist for an elevator and a piece of elevator equipment, which have a structure allowing convenient mounting and dismounting of a brake shoe while ensuring the brake performance. According to the cable hoist for the elevator and the elevator equipment of the invention, a brake shoe (12) can be rotated so as to be engaged with or disengaged from a brake device (13). The brake device (13) is fixed at such a position that the brake shoe (12) is disposed within a brake-shoe movable path formed by a guide mechanism (25) which is normally engaged with the brake shoe (12) so as to limit the rotation of the brake shoe (12), and is fixed on a main frame (10) via a brake-device moving mechanism. When the brake shoe (12) needs to be disengaged from the brake device (13), the brake-device moving mechanism moves the brake device (13) to such a position that the brake shoe (12) can be disengaged away from the movable path. |
