The present invention relates to method for preparing 5,8-dihydroxylioleic acid and a composition thereof wherein an exact name of the composition is 5,8-dihydroxy-9,12(Z,Z)-octadecadienoic acid. More specifically, the invention relates to a method for preparing 5,8-dihydroxylioleic acid at a high yield by using diol synthase originated from aspergillus nidulans to optimize reaction conditions of linoleic acid, and to a composition required therefor. According to the present invention, it is possible to prepare 5,8-dihydroxylioleic acid at a high yield with a highly specific and a highly environment-friendly method and 5,8-dihydroxylioleic acid prepared thereby can be used as a raw material in various industries. |
