PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mitigate the problem in which: a tire pressure monitoring sensor can be mounted on a tire valve stem; the sensor includes a weight that must be provided in the mounting method; and, when the wheel is rotating, the weight is acted on by centrifugal force that can disrupt a desired position of the sensor.SOLUTION: A tire pressure monitoring assembly includes a sensor 12 secured to a valve stem 28 secured within a wheel rim 16. The sensor 12 is secured to the valve stem 28 with a push-in clip 24. The valve stem 28 includes two pieces that provide installation from one side of the wheel rim 16. The valve stem 28 provides elongation of a rubber housing. The elongation of the housing causes a reduction in an outer diameter that provides insertion into an opening of the wheel rim 16. |
