PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of changing rigidity of an actuator and a device for the same.SOLUTION: An actuator has effective rigidity. The effective rigidity is at least partially based on characteristics of nonlinear deflection of buckling. A method of changing the effective rigidity of the actuator includes providing the actuator, and changing the effective rigidity of the actuator at least partially based on the characteristics of the nonlinear deflection of the buckling. Other method of changing the effective rigidity of the actuator includes applying a load on a member. The load buckles the member, and the buckling generates the nonlinear deflection of the member. |
